I feel like I should update this blog. I kind of just want to write and write and not censor myself, but I know that I will inevitably censor myself for this reason and that reason. But perhaps you wouldn't read everything I wrote anyway, and then that would be ok.

I...I'm listening to Death Cab for Cutie right now. While I was quickly in St. Louis before coming to Florence, Amanda lent me her ipod, since my ipod was the first and only thing I've lost on this trip (thanks Amanda!) So I was drawing at La Specola, an AMAZING museum filled with taxidermied animals and wax sculptures of humans (with their insides showing). It's an educational museum, but also just super awesome to look through (even if you aren't trying to learn anything.) Our drawing teacher only just took us to it this past week. I wish she would have taken us there the first week, because I feel like there is soooo much to draw there, and I won't have enough time between now and the end of the semester. I bought a pass to go thirty times, so I'm going to make regular visits--as often and for as long as I can. I was visiting the weasels and bears today. Most of them looked kind of upset to see me, but I think really, they are softies, and just kind of shy. Anyway, I was listening to Amanda's ipod, and most music we agree on, but I just don't have alot of what she does--so it's fun to have her ipod! I listened to Death Cab for Cutie's album through twice, because I haven't really heard that one yet, and it's SO good. listen to:

title and registration
the sound of settling
lack of color
tiny vessels

Also a John Mayer kind of stuck out to me when I was listening on shuffle:
dreaming with broken heart

So... what else? I guess something that is sticking in my head is that Sylva and I had a little I don't even know what the word for it is. Last night I was asking why she had a little break down on Thursday, and we were talking about it for a while (I guess she realized that she's not cut out to be an artist). Anyway, I kept on talking with her, and then I guess I went a little too far, and it seemed like she was about to cry. So I dropped it.
Today when I came home from the Studio around 4, she asked me how my day was. "Fine. Fun!" and I forgot to ask her how her day was. I went into my room, set down my back pack, and knocked on Sylva and Siena's door. I came in I got my bread from last night. I then asked Sylva, "How was your day? What did you do?" and she said, "Ummm..." and I asked, "Did you go to church?" and she said, "No."
"Oh did you sleep in?"
And she said, "I think I'm going to boycott answering you for a while, because lately I've found it difficult answer your questions."

and I said, "oh. okay." and I left the room.

Do I ask to many questions? Siena said the other day when I was asking which drawing she liked better, "You always ask these questions that make me feel like you're putting me in a box."

Sigh. Maybe i ask too many questions. I think it's my way of creating conversation. I don't know how else to really carry on a conversation besides a "call and response." Sorry if I've ever made you feel put on the spot. I know I have. So sorry.

What else? Oh-- I have a funny story to tell you:

I finished (finally) writing letters to my family, and so I decided to send them on the 25th (for the Annunciation.) I put them in an envelope, put a stamp on, and ran to the post box to plop them in. Half a second after I slipped it in, I realized that I hadn't written an address. Wow. How silly can I get? I tried fishing it out, but post boxes are built so that people can't fish out letters. So I was thinking of going to the Post Office the next day and explaining what happened, but Sylva had a good idea to just put a piece of paper in the box that said "This is the address for the envelope without an address." So that's what I did, and I hope that my letter will get there. I really really hope.

I just skyped with Mum and Dad and William (a little bit) for 50 minutes. Even more exciting than that was getting to skype with my sister, Grace, a few days ago for the first time on our travels. She was in Vietnam at the time, and now she's in Hong Kong. Amazing. It sounds like she is doing well. And she's updated her blog, so you all can read that, if you want. As I'm going to do right now...

... and now that I'm done, I can definitely say she is having an AMAZING time, and that one of her stories is so beautiful I started to tear up.

I guess I should go develop my contact sheet for photo. I need to see what I got on the first roll, and what photos I need to take (our crit is on Wed.)

So, for now, arrividerci!

I love you all and thanks for reading. I'll leave you with this incredible music video.
